A note from our nutritionist about the heat & eat: many people are scared to eat ‘heavier, warming foods’ for lunch and dinner, fearing that they are too high in calories. My personal opinion is that we need to focus on 3 good quality, ‘proper’ meals per day that provide satiety for 4-5 hours. Consider this; a filling, proper meal containing a good balance of vegetables, protein and slow release carbohydrates will keep you satisfied right through until the next meal time. BREAKFAST

Typical western breakfasts are cereal from a box or a couple of slices of toast. These don’t offer us a great deal of nutrition and they tend to be high in carbohydrates (including sugar), but lacking protein and fats. This can set us up for a day of fluctuating blood sugar levels and cravings for sweet things. In addition, a breakfast like this will not keep you powering until lunch… it will leave you reaching for the coffee and banana bread by mid-morning instead.
At All Real Food, we focus on providing you with a breakfast that is well balanced. As per our nutritionist’s recommendations we balance out fibre rich carbohydrates with good protein levels and healthy fats. Our aim is to maximise nutrition, maximise flavour and keep you feeling stable and energised right through til your next meal. Our ‘treats’ area great for spoiling a friend at work or taking home to a loved one for dessert or for that occasional indulgence with your morning coffee. At All Real Food we believe in balance and we don’t think you should feel guilty about enjoying something sweet from time to time. And we have gone the extra mile by minimising the use of plain white sugar and refined flour in our treats. Mostly, we sweeten with high quality rapadura sugar, dates, maple syrup or organic honey. And often we use wholemeal flours or even non wheat-based flours like buckwheat too. So while our treats do contain calories… they also contain nutrients!

As a personal favourite, I could not recommend this breakfast enough. Having seen the baking process of all the nuts, seeds and spices that are in this house made granola is just decedent.
